This shirt, as its name suggests, embodies the spirit of an "Artisan," meticulously crafted with unwavering attention to every detail of its material, construction, and dyeing process.
KANEMASA PHIL.'s proprietary 46-gauge super high-gauge knitting machine is used to knit the jersey fabric, which is made from 100% 80/1 recycled Suvin cotton. Furthermore, salt shrinking is applied to create a unique creped texture and rich character on the fabric's surface. This results in an unparalleled, one-of-a-kind material.
Following this, two-color tie-dyeing is performed, creating a unique, deeply expressive pattern on each individual piece. Special softening and dyeing processes further enhance the fabric's inherent drape and sheer quality. During the drying process, each piece is air-dried individually, carefully preserving the fabric's texture without compromise.
Combining the lightness characteristic of high-gauge materials with excellent stretchability, this shirt offers a comfortable fit that you won't want to take off once you try it on. We propose it as a new staple material that can be effortlessly worn. Even in its construction, meticulous attention to detail is evident, with the thin and delicate high-gauge material carefully tailored at skilled domestic sewing factories.
The hems, cuffs, and pockets feature a deliberately raw-cut finish, while gathers on the yoke and cuffs blend a handcrafted feel with delicate sophistication. The detailing is designed based on a dress shirt. Shell buttons are used, with the brand's logo engraved on the back.
Another feature is the relaxed box silhouette. The beautiful drape created when worn is a unique charm of this material. By minimizing the use of raw-cut edges and interlining, the silhouette is constructed while making the most of the fabric's inherent texture. This special piece from the Artisan series is a fusion of handcrafted tie-dyeing and the brand's unique material development.
* Tie-dyeing
This is a traditional dyeing technique where patterns are created by binding parts of the fabric to prevent dye penetration. Each piece will have a different appearance.
* Salt shrinking
This is a process where chemicals are permeated into the fabric to shrink it, creating a unique uneven and creped texture on the fabric's surface.
* Due to the use of organic cotton, contamination (mixing of different fibers) may occur. Please consider this as a characteristic of the material.
* Due to the nature of the product, slight fraying or damage may be observed. Also, changes may occur with repeated wear and washing, so please handle with care.
