This piece is designed for you to enjoy the free curves unique to hand carving and the splendor of the arabesque pattern. Hand-carving arabesques on a semicircular (kamaboko-shaped) metal base, rather than a flat one, is extremely time-consuming.
The engraved grooves will darken with use, so this piece can also be enjoyed for its aged appearance.
